V-Stitch Crochet Blanket

 

 

 

I’m sharing this project again to get everything in one place as its story is scattered over a few work in progress posts.

So heres all of the details…

The pattern I used can be found on My Rose Valley and is a paid pattern, designed for a complete beginner.  It is really easy to follow and is brilliant even for a more experienced crocheter if like me you just don’t want to think about starting chains and balancing width with length.

I wanted my blanket to be really soft and squishy so I used half a hook size bigger than suggested for the body and up again for the seed stitch border. (From 4mm to 4.5mm and up to 5mm) My tension is always all over the place with long term projects and this one was no different. The sides were a mess before blocking but it stretched out loads and has kept its shape since.

In total I used 24 different colours of Drops Lima. Twenty-two 50 gram balls for the main body and 200grams (4 balls) for the ends.

The colours I used are:

Green Mix, Goldenrod, Light Beige Mix, Heather, Dark Purple, Ruby Red, Moss Green, Ice Blue, Beige Mix, Light Grey Mix, Sea Green, Dark Grey Mix, Rust Mix, Powder Pink, Red, Dark Blue, Purple, Cerise, Pistachio, Navy Blue, Medium Grey Mix, Black, Pearl Grey, Off White
